NEW TO HULLABALOO?
Let’s walk you through a typical playgroup session…
Arrival
You'll be greeted by a team member at the entrance, then follow signs to put your buggy/pram in our indoor ‘Buggy park’.
Make your way to the desk to sign in yourself and all children you’ve brought with you.
We’ll gladly take your drinks order here - we offer a range of drinks, hot or cold, and usually have a non-dairy milk option - your drink will be prepared in a labelled cup, which you can collect from the hatch when ready during the session. Snacks will be provided for the children, and biscuits for the grown-ups.
Now you’re ready to go and explore the rooms packed with toys suited to all ages and interests!
Singing & story time
We tidy the toys away in the ‘singing room’ at 11:15. (For those who want to carry on playing / chatting: the other room next to the kitchen will remain full of toys until the end of the session.)
Everyone joins in with tidying away - musical motivation plays in the background! ‘Toy Collection’ posters show where the toys are stacked.
The outer row of chairs around the mats is turned inwards to maximise seating, so that everyone can join in. Extra chairs can be grabbed if needed.
Singing time runs for the last 25 mins of the session and is a great time to engage with your child and help him/her to learn songs and rhymes that you may have grown up singing and reciting!
We usually also have a story from the Bible which is told in an engaging way – participation is encouraged!
Our time together is always rounded off with a rendition of the ‘Sleeping Bunnies’ song.
