Meet The Team

ELDERS

Stuart Shackelton: Pastor

Picture
Stuart “Shacky” Shackleton has been the pastor of this church for the past 15 years. Pastor Shacky is a gifted preacher and teacher.  He has a desire to see our church grow in reaching and supporting families, children and youth in the ways of Jesus.  Our pastor is approachable, fun-loving and hospitable.

Martin Durham: Elder

Martin has been in local church leadership for over 20 years and, having left a banking career in 2001, has for the last 17 years been leading the gospel ministry known as Kerygma180. 

Jeremy Geake: Elder

Picture
Jeremy has attended South Hanwell Church for many years and started following Jesus in his teens, after experiencing clear assurance from God that, as a follower of Jesus, he was part of God’s family. Over the years he has led or helped run various initiatives at church including youth work and more recently, stuff for men.​

TREASURER

Rick Poster: Treasurer

Picture
Rick has been at South Hanwell since he decided to follow Jesus as a teenager. As treasurer he oversees South Hanwell’s financial affairs and accounting practices. He co-leads a midweek life group and helps out on the sound desk.

CHURCH COVENANT STATEMENT

As a body of believers at South Hanwell Baptist Church,
 
We commit to worshipping God alone, by:
 
  • Exalting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour
  • ​Studying and applying God's Word
  • Growing as disciples of Jesus
 
We recognise that we are the body of Christ and commit ourselves to loving one another through:
 
  • Gathering together regularly for worship and fellowship
  • Helping one another to live as fully committed followers of Christ
  • Praying for each other 
 
We commit to Christ’s plan to reach the world through this Church, by:
 
  • Sacrificially supporting the life of SHBC with our time, money, prayer and gifts
  • Seeking to win others to Jesus, and including them in the life & mission of His church
  • Upholding the cause of the poor and the marginalised.
